How to Edit Assets, Delete Assets and Delete Assets Group

Managing assets in your financial forecast is essential for accurate business planning. Assets represent long-term purchases that impact your balance sheet, cash flow, and depreciation calculations over time.

You can organize assets into groups for better categorization, edit their details or projections, and delete them when they are no longer relevant. This guide covers editing individual assets, deleting assets, and deleting asset groups.

    Click on the Forecast tab within the Finance Forecasting module and then the Assets tab. You will see Assets groups and Assets on this page. Click on the pencil icon next to the individual asset you wish to edit.

    This action will overlay the forecasting sheet. You can double-click on individual cells within this forecasting sheet to edit or modify the values. Changes are auto-saved.

    To modify initial inputs for this asset item, click on the Assumptions button at the top to open the forecasting form. In this form, you can modify the initial input values to have the system update the forecasting. Once you are done making changes, click on Save.

    How to delete an asset

    Click on the Forecast tab within the Finance Forecasting module and then the Assets tab. You will see Assets groups and Assets on this page. Click on the three dots next to the asset you wish to delete. This will show a drop-down menu.

    Click on Delete Item from the drop-down menu to delete the asset.

    This will open the Delete Assets confirmation box. Click on Yes, Delete to confirm the asset deletion.

    How to delete an Assets group

    Click on the Finance Forecasting module from within your workspace.

    Click on the Forecast tab within the Finance Forecasting module and then the Assets tab. You will see Assets groups and Assets on this page. Click on the three dots next to the assets group you wish to delete. This will show a drop-down menu.

    Click on Delete Group from the drop-down menu.

    Click on Ok, Remove in the Delete Group confirmation pop-up to confirm the deletion.

    TIP: Before editing or deleting assets, review your financial reports to understand the impact on your projections.

    NOTE: Deletions are permanent and cannot be undone, so proceed with caution.

    By following these steps, you can efficiently edit, delete individual assets, or remove entire asset groups, keeping your financial forecast up-to-date and accurate.
