The AI Writing Assistant lets you rewrite, improve, expand, summarize, correct grammar, translate into another language, adjust the tone for your audience, or generate fresh content from scratch — all from a single panel inside the business plan editor.
This guide will walk you through the various options available within the AI Writing Assistant, so you can get the most out of this powerful tool.
Using AI Writing Assistant:
Open your business plan and go to the Plan view. Navigate to the section you want to edit, select the text you'd like to refine, and click Ask AI in the floating toolbar that appears.

The Ask AI panel shows a custom prompt field at the top — labeled Describe what you want to write... — followed by three preset categories for common writing tasks: General Options, Tone Options, and Audience Options.

These options improve the clarity, structure, and readability of your text:

- Summarize: Compress a long paragraph into a brief, clear summary. Suited to executive summaries or elevator pitches.
- Rephrase/Paraphrase: Rewrite a sentence or paragraph without changing its core meaning.
- Rewrite for Simplicity: Make complex or technical text easier to read for broader audiences.
- Explain in Detail: Expand the text with more context — useful for making vague or high-level points more comprehensive.
- Correct Grammar and Spelling: Fix spelling, grammar, and syntax errors.
- Translate: Convert your content into a different language. Supports English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, Arabic, Persian, and more. For more details, click here.
i.e., To improve the wording of your content, click Rephrase/Paraphrase under General Options, and the AI will generate a refined version.

2. Tone Options:
These options adjust the tone of your content to match your brand, audience, or purpose:

- Formal Tone: Makes the text more structured and professional, suited to investor-focused sections.
- Friendly/Conversational Tone: Adds a relaxed, approachable feel, suited to customer-oriented messaging.
- Persuasive Tone: Adds convincing language for selling your vision.
- Inspirational Tone: Adds motivational flair and uplifting energy — suited to mission statements or company vision.
- Technical Tone: Makes the writing more precise and information-dense — suited to niche industries.
i.e., To make your content sound friendly, select the Friendly/Conversational Tone option under Tone Options, and the AI will adjust the text accordingly.

3. Audience Options:
Tailor your message for a specific reader type:

- Adapt for Investors: Focuses on ROI, growth potential, and traction to appeal to venture capitalists or angel investors.
- Adapt for Customers: Adjusts your language to speak directly to end-users, emphasizing benefits and addressing their pain points.
- Adapt for Partners: Rewrites your content to focus on collaboration, synergy, and mutual benefits — suited to strategic alliances.
i.e., To refine your content with investors in mind, click Adapt for Investors, and the AI will reshape the text to suit their expectations.

4. Custom Action:
The Custom Action gives you full control. If you have something specific in mind, type your instruction directly into the Describe what you want to write... field at the top of the Ask AI panel.

Examples of prompts you can use:
- Make it sound more confident.
- Enhance this paragraph by adding a real-world example and a relevant statistic.
- Generate an executive summary from scratch.
- Summarize this section in 3 short bullet points.
